Don't use AI for marketing materials
LLMs are corrosive to the web. Their use diminishes trustworthiness. I recommend that you not use AI in any marketing materials: text or imagery.
Even if LLM content has been vetted by your content strategists and designers, any association with AI in general risks harming your reputation.
Here’s a quick thought experiment demonstrating why. You have been tasked with choosing a vendor for your organization. You must pick one of two companies, based only on the following information:
- Their products have the exact same pricing.
- Judging by their marketing materials, the products seem indistinguishable in looks and function.
- Company One’s text description and photos of the product were 100% created by employees.
- Company Two used AI to co-author their product description and to create images demonstrating it.
Which company do you pick? Which one is easier for you to make a case for your decision to your boss?
